What the September 9 CLI release changes, and what to verify before using it in a project.
What changed
The official September 9, 2026 changelog for Codex CLI 0.154.0 lists an experimental worktree flow through –worktree and /worktree. The experimental label matters when deciding where to try it.
What it could mean for your workflow
An isolated checkout can make a focused change easier to review. Before adopting a new flow, confirm which branch and files the session uses, how existing changes are handled, and where the resulting diff will be reviewed. These are evaluation suggestions, not reported test results.
